Basic Nursing Assistants Training

nov 2010 graduation class

The Basic Nursing Assistants Training Program prepares students for an entry-level career in healthcare.  The course integrates basic nursing concepts and skills with current trends in patient care.  The student is trained and equipped with knowledge and skills above the basic requirements of the state for nursing assistants.

Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is taken as a separate unit where the student receives certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers and First Aid.  A more comprehensive view of Anatomy and Physiology, as well as Medical Terminology is provided for a better understanding of the student's role as healthcare provider.

Career Development seminars/workshops are incorporated in the program to prepare students for employment.  Upon successful completion of this program, students take the Illinois Nurse Aide Competency Examination administered by Southern Illinois University of Carbondale.  Illinois State Board of Education approved.
